This Privacy Policy explains how CheckBidAuto (checkbidauto.com), operated by an individual based in the Republic of Moldova, collects, uses, and protects your personal data.

1. Data We Collect

  • Account data: name, email address, delivery country, password (hashed)
  • Payment data: Stripe handles all payment processing. We do not store card numbers. We receive only a transaction reference and subscription status from Stripe.
  • Usage data: lots viewed, favorites, saved filters, calculation history
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, access timestamps (server logs, retained for 30 days)

2. Purpose of Processing

  • Providing and maintaining the service (contract performance)
  • Processing payments and managing subscriptions (contract performance)
  • Sending transactional emails: email verification, password reset, subscription confirmation (contract performance)
  • Sending notification emails about saved lots and filters, if opted in (legitimate interest / consent)
  • Preventing fraud and abuse (legitimate interest)

3. Legal Basis (GDPR)

We process your data on the basis of: (a) performance of a contract when you use our service; (b) legitimate interests in operating and securing the service; (c) your consent where required (e.g. marketing emails). Our servers are located in the European Union (Hetzner, Helsinki, Finland), meaning GDPR standards apply to data storage.

4. Data Storage

Your data is stored on servers operated by Hetzner Online GmbH, located in Helsinki, Finland (EU). Data is not transferred outside the EU, except as described below.

5. Third-Party Services

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active, plus 12 months after account deletion (for legal and dispute resolution purposes). Payment records are retained for 7 years as required by Moldovan accounting law. Server logs are deleted after 30 days.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to: access your personal data; correct inaccurate data; request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten"); restrict or object to processing; data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@checkbidauto.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication (session tokens). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Children

Our service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy at any time. We will notify registered users by email of material changes. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
